Training
What classes are available throughout the week?Classes are available every Monday and Thursday evening at 7pm. The Monday class is instructed by Mr. Victor Mickelson in Alexandria, Virginia. The Thursday class is instructed by Mr. Shaun Sadowski in Woodbridge, Virginia. There is also one weekend morning class that is held either on Saturday or Sunday morning at 9am either in Woodbridge or Alexandria, Virginia.
Why have classes at two different locations?
Do to the heavy traffic congestion in the Washington-Metropolitan area, driving down to Woodbridge, Virginia during rush hour can be tiresome. Therefore, it was decided to open up class in Alexandria, Virginia on Monday nights. We also rotate between the two locations on the weekends.
Who is the lead instructor of Kageshin Dojo in NOVA?
Shaun Sadowski is the head instructor.
How long is each class?
Each class is two hours.
How are the classes structured?
Each class is broken down into 2, 1 hour increments. The first hour consist of stretching and exercises to warm up the body followed by rolls, dive-rolls, break-falls and jumping techniques. The last 20 to 30 minutes are focused to Gyokko Ryu Kihon Happo (8 Basic techniques of Tiger Family System) The second hour consists of individual Kyu level training and/or selected training in 1 of 18 ninjutsu physical martial arts.
Does the kageshin dojo train with weapons?
Yes, we train in the following weapons – sword, 6’ wooden staff, 4’ wooden staff, 3’ wooden staff, chain, knife and spear just to name a few.
Do you teach private classes?
I am willing to teach privately.

What is the cost?40.00 Per Month.
Do I need to sign a contract?
There are no contracts. This is a month-to-month pay as you go process.
Is there a registration Fee?
No…
Do I need to purchase weapons or gi to train?
You will need to purchase a gi and training tools for class; however, there is no rush and you can purchase the items over time.
I would like to join the Genbukan, is there a fee?
Yes, there is a yearly membership fee that varies in price depending on rank. Grandmaster Tanemura updates the membership fees each year on his website. You can find the latest fees within a pdf document on the following webpage:
